21 july,
2003 dear
visitor, i have not done a major update of
this site in several months now, so there may be broken links and
out-of-date information. i apologize. i have been busy with work
as the director of the lunenburg family resource centre, with my
volunteering, and trying to take some time for myself. with the
many positive changes happening in canada, (ie: recognition of
same-sex relationships & the decriminalization of medical
marijuana), it has been hard to keep au courant with the day to
day changes in canadian society.this
homepage has grown to over 600 pages since i started it in late
'96 and 70,000 visitors (which i never expected!) when I started
it, i was having a 'bad patch' in my life and i found learning
and creating with html, well, sort of therapeutic. it has had
many changes and face-lifts, as i have had many changes. i've
lost most of my interest in maintaining it. it's more work than
fun to me at this point in my life. maybe during the long, dark
nights of our nova scotia winter, i'll get back to it, but i feel
that i need to spend my time with other interests. also, i've
been asked to lead a medical mission for rotary international in
2004 to nigeria and cameroon which takes a helluva lot of
organization.i have
taken this summer off and ariel, my faithful canine companion and
i are spending most of it at the family cottage on the
northumberland strait. there are some pictures i've taken this
july of 'cottage country' in my webpages
album. also there, are several art
works i've recently completed. and something i have wanted to do
for years is to write something more than magazine articles: i
have been working on is a novel about a gay man sent to
sachsenhausen concentration camp and i now have 100+ pages
completed that i'm satisfied with. enjoy
your visit, and if you have any comments, questions, kudos or
brickbats, please sign the guestbook or email me.peace and
light terry

gay men and lesbians are
discriminated against in housing and employmentANDbecause
how we act is more important than who we are AND if we
get harassed it's our problemANDif
we get attacked we provoked itANDif
we raise our voices we're flaunting ourselvesAND
if we enjoy sex we're
pervertsANDif
we have AIDS we deserve itANDif
we march with pride we're recruiting childrenANDif
we want or have children we're unfit parentsANDif
we stand up for our rights we're overstepping our
boundariesANDbecause
we are forced constantly to question our own worth as
human beingsAND
if
we don't have a relationship with someone of the opposite
sex we haven't given it a chanceANDif
we have a relationship with someone of the same sex it is
not recognizedANDwe are told our love is
not "real"ANDif
we come out of the closet we're just going through a
phaseANDbecause
lesbian and gay history is virtually absent from
literatureANDbecause
homophobia is sanctioned by the courts AND....for
lots and lots of other reasons,
i am a part of the lesbian
and gay civil rights movement
